The Etiquette of Seeking Knowledge ... to adorn oneself with beautiful etiquette, noble manners, good behaviour, and pious conduct are distinguishing characteristics of the people of Islaam, and knowledge - the most precious pearl in the crown of the purified Shareeah - cannot be attained except by those who adorn themselves with its etiquette and those who leave evil qualities associated to it. For this reason the scholars devoted their attention to this etiquette, outlined its importance and wrote books solely on this topic; either pertaining to (general conduct] with all types of knowledge or to specific types of knowledge such as the etiquette of the carriers of the Noble Quireaan, the etiquette of the muhaddith, the etiquette of the muftee, the etiquette of the qaadee (judge), the etiquette of the muhtasib (the one who enjoins good and forbids evil for the sake of Allaah) and so on. The issue of this book is the general conduct of those who take the path of seeking the knowledge of the Sharee'ah.

As salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh brothers and sisters-
Alhumdulillah, this book is fantastic. This was the first book I read before getting deeper into
Islamic studies and research. I found it very, very helpful. This is a definite "must-have." It
goes into how to be humble, how to take notes, how to talk to a sheikh, how to memorize,
and a lot more. The book gives very good information, but it doesn't get so in depth that you
will lose concentration, get bored, and put the book down. The book is short but concise,
giving you exactly what you need to have the basis to be successful in Islamic studies
inshaAllah. I, very highly recommend this book to all brothers and sisters who are beginners
to intermediate level in Islamic studies who want to build a solid foundation on HOW to seek
knowledge before getting too deep into Islamic studies. Don't go into Islamic studies blindly
[without this book]. Get this book. You will like it inshaAllah.
-Hope this helps inshaAllah :]

Excellent primer for people who wish to begin studying anything. No matter your specialization or interests, this book is a guide for all seekers. A fantastic starting point. I found it better to read over a period of time because applying all its advices is not feasible in a sitting.

The first step to aquiring knowledge and learning the ettiquetes of seeking knowledge. Mashallah you can read through this book in one sitting inshallah. Like most books it goes through issues that you would not expect a book like this to go through such as how your dress effects your studying etc. These types of books help clear misconceptions and help point out flaws in yourself that maybe you haven't given a second thought about before.
